Among the Hollows & Among the Hallowed

Among the Hollows and Among the Hallowed are two sister collections of poetry created for a final project in a graduate Book Design course. Both collections grapple with the influence of nature on literature, whether it be through small subjects, such as daffodils encountered on a morning stroll (Among the Hollows), or seemingly endless subjects, such as the sublime of the cosmos (Among the Hallowed).

Full jacket covers for Among the Hollows and Among the Hallowed, the latter placing in the 63rd New England Book Show! The title won second place in “Student Print Books” and “Self-published Book Cover.”

Both collections were designed and edited by me. Design-wise, I dealt with the typography, interior and exterior design, and page layouts. Editorial-wise, I curated the collections, edited the pieces, and wrote all uncredited copy throughout both books (intros, forewords, back cover copy, etc.). All content was found in the public domain, including the artwork and poetry. The covers contain elements derived from public domain sources, but they are original graphics created for these books.

Both collections are available for purchase through The Bookpatch:
